What is the STOTT-PILATES® Method?

The STOTT-PILATES® Method is a modern approach based on the original training method of Joseph Pilates. Together with a team of physiotherapists and sports medicine and fitness experts, co-founders Moira and Lindsay G. Merrithew have worked for decades on the further development of the method and equipment. Modern principles of movement science and spinal rehabilitation have been integrated, making the method particularly safe and effective. The clear and detailed approach forms the basis for STOTT-PILATES training and certification programs. The method is applicable to various target groups, including rehabilitation patients, pregnant women, athletes, celebrities, and many more.

What is the difference between STOTT PILATES® and other methods?

The difference between STOTT PILATES® and other Pilates methods lies primarily in the modern, scientifically-based approach. While traditional Pilates methods are based on the original exercises of Joseph Pilates, STOTT PILATES® integrates current insights from movement science, physiotherapy, and sports medicine. This means that STOTT PILATES® places special emphasis on proper alignment, stabilizing the core, and individualizing exercises.

Additionally, the method uses specialized equipment that makes the exercises even more effective and safe. This combination makes STOTT PILATES® particularly suitable for rehabilitation, prevention, and fitness – and for people with different needs.
